Connect on ZapierWhat's New
The Zapier integration brings three powerful capabilities that competitors don't offer:
Real-Time Scan Notifications
Get instant alerts the moment someone scans your QR code. Know exactly when prospects engage with your marketing materials, when attendees check in at events, or when customers scan product packaging.
Connect scan events to:
- Slack - Post to a channel when leads scan your booth QR at a trade show
- Email - Send yourself a notification for high-value campaign scans
- SMS - Get text alerts for time-sensitive promotions
Milestone Triggers
Celebrate when your campaigns hit big numbers. The integration triggers automatically when your QR codes reach 1, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, or 10,000 scans.
Use milestones to:
- Post celebration messages to your team Slack channel
- Log achievements to a Google Sheet for reporting
- Trigger reward emails to campaign managers
Analytics in Your Workflows
Pull scan data directly into your automated reports. No more logging into dashboards—your QR code performance comes to you.
Build workflows that:
- Send weekly scan summaries to your inbox
- Populate Google Sheets with location and device data
- Update CRM records with engagement metrics
Sample Use Cases
Trade Show Lead Capture
Trigger: QR code scanned Action: Create contact in Salesforce
When someone scans your booth QR, automatically create a lead in your CRM with the timestamp and location data. Follow up faster than competitors who are still collecting business cards.
Campaign Milestone Celebrations
Trigger: QR code reaches 1,000 scans Action: Post to Slack channel
When your summer campaign hits 1K scans, automatically share the win with your marketing team. Build momentum and keep everyone informed on campaign performance.
Weekly Analytics Reports
Trigger: Schedule (every Monday) Action: Get QR analytics → Send email
Pull last week's scan data from your top QR codes and send a formatted summary to stakeholders. No manual report building required.
Event Check-In Tracking
Trigger: QR code scanned Action: Add row to Google Sheet
Track event attendance in real-time. Each scan adds a timestamped row to your spreadsheet, giving you accurate headcounts and arrival patterns.
Available Actions
The integration includes these actions for building your Zaps:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Create QR Code | Generate a new QR code from your Zap |
| Update QR Code | Modify destination URL or settings |
| Get QR Code | Retrieve details about a specific code |
| Find QR Code | Search your codes by name or content |
| Get Analytics | Pull scan statistics for a QR code |
Available Triggers
Set up automations that react to QR code events:
| Trigger | Description |
|---|---|
| QR Code Scanned | Fires when any QR code is scanned |
| Milestone Reached | Fires at 1, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1K, 5K, 10K scans |
| New QR Code Created | Fires when a new code is created |
Join the Beta
We're looking for beta testers to help us polish the integration before public launch.
What we need:
- Create at least one Zap using any trigger or action
- Turn the Zap on (make it "live")
- Share feedback on what's working and what could be better
What you get:
- Early access to automation features
- Direct line to our team for feature requests
- Help shape how the integration evolves
Getting Started
- Connect your account - Click the "Connect on Zapier" link above and authorize QR Code Maker
- Create your first Zap - Pick a trigger (like "QR Code Scanned") and connect it to your favorite app
- Turn it on - Activate your Zap and watch the automations flow
Need help setting up your first Zap? Check out our complete Zapier integration guide for detailed setup instructions and use cases.
What's Next
This is just the beginning. We're planning to add:
- More trigger events (QR code updated, status changed)
- Bulk actions for managing multiple codes
- Template Zaps for common use cases
Your feedback shapes our roadmap. Join the beta and tell us what automations you'd like to build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I trigger a Zap when someone scans my QR code?
Yes. Connect the "QR Code Scanned" trigger to a dynamic QR code and every scan fires your Zap—add the lead to a CRM, log the scan to a spreadsheet, post to Slack, send a follow-up email, and so on. Static codes can't do this: they have no tracking layer, so there's no scan event to fire.
Do I need a paid plan to use the Zapier integration?
No. The Zapier connection works with the free account's one trackable dynamic code; you'd only move to a paid plan if you need more dynamic codes or longer analytics retention. (Zapier itself may require a paid Zapier tier for multi-step Zaps.)
Does QR Code Maker have a native Zapier app, or do I need webhooks?
There's a native Zapier app with triggers like "QR Code Scanned", "Milestone Reached", and "New QR Code Created" and matching actions—no webhook setup required. For anything the native app doesn't cover yet, you can still use Webhooks by Zapier.
Can I create QR codes in bulk through Zapier?
Zapier creates dynamic codes one per trigger event, which is ideal for ongoing automation (a new row, a new lead, a new sign-up → a new code). For a one-time batch—say, hundreds of product labels—use the CSV bulk generator (a Pro feature) instead. The two pair well: Zapier for codes as you need them, CSV for big batches.
Why isn't my QR code scan showing up in Zapier?
The usual causes: the code is static (no scans are tracked), the Zap is turned off, scan deduplication or caching delayed it, or you've hit the free account's monthly scan limit (about 1,000). Confirm it's a dynamic code and the Zap is live, then test by scanning it yourself.
