Fair Cancellation Policy

Your QR codes don't become hostages when you stop paying.

The Short Version

  • Free forever: One dynamic QR code with full tracking, plus unlimited static codes, forever free.
  • Continuity guaranteed: Keep your most important QR code fully functional—even on the free plan.
  • You choose: Control which QR code stays in your free slot by pausing codes you don't need.
  • No surprise charges: We don't ask for a credit card on the free plan. We can't charge you.

The Industry Problem

Most QR code services use your printed materials as leverage. Miss a payment or let a trial expire, and your QR codes stop working entirely. Business cards, product packaging, restaurant menus, event signage—all become useless.

This is why we built QR Code Maker differently.

What Happens When...

...I cancel my subscription?

Your account reverts to the free tier. Nothing changes immediately—you keep full access until your billing period ends.

  • Your oldest active dynamic code stays fully functional with tracking
  • All static codes keep working forever (they don't need our servers)
  • Codes beyond your free limit show a "needs attention" page—not a broken link

...I downgrade to a lower plan?

You keep full functionality for codes within your new plan's limit—and you decide which codes those are.

  • Codes within your new limit work normally with full tracking and editing
  • You choose which codes stay active by pausing ones you don't need
  • Over-limit codes show a "needs attention" page until you upgrade or free up a slot

Key advantage: Before you downgrade, pause any codes you don't need. This lets you keep your most important code fully operational on any plan—even free.

...my free trial ends?

We don't have trials that auto-charge because we don't collect your credit card on the free plan.

  • You keep 1 free dynamic code with full tracking, forever
  • Unlimited static codes, forever
  • No surprise charges—ever

...I want to come back later?

Our policy is to preserve your data for at least 2 years after cancellation, so you can come back anytime.

  • Resubscribe anytime and everything reactivates instantly
  • All your codes, analytics history, and settings are preserved
  • Pick up exactly where you left off

Your Data, Your Control

Export your data anytime. Static codes work forever without our servers; dynamic codes stay functional per our cancellation policy.

What you can export

  • QR code images (SVG/PNG)
  • Analytics data as CSV (Pro+)
  • All your QR code configurations

Why codes never break

  • Static codes work forever (no server needed)
  • Free tier keeps 1 dynamic code active
  • Downloaded images are yours permanently

The Fine Print

We believe in transparency. Here's exactly what happens in edge cases:

What "needs attention" means

If you have more dynamic codes than your plan allows, the extras show a page telling scanners the code needs attention from the owner. It's not a broken link or cryptic error—it's a clear message with a link to manage the code.

How we choose which codes work

Your oldest active codes get priority. By pausing codes you don't need, you can control which ones stay in your active set. This gives you flexibility to keep your most important codes working.

Restaurant menus are special

Menu QR codes show an interstitial but still let customers view the menu. We don't block hungry people from seeing your menu—they just see a brief notice first.
