Your Data, Your Control

What data you can export and why there's no vendor lock-in with QR Code Maker.

Unlike many SaaS services that hold your data hostage, we've built QR Code Maker so you're never trapped.

What You Can Export

QR Code Images

Download your QR codes as SVG or PNG files anytime:

  • Individual codes: Download button on each QR code
  • Bulk export: Pro and Team plans can export multiple codes as a ZIP file. For creating codes in bulk, see our Bulk QR Code Generator.

These are standard image files. Use them anywhere, forever. They don't depend on our servers.

Analytics Data (Pro and Team)

Export your scan statistics as CSV:

  • Daily scan counts and unique visitors
  • Device and location breakdowns
  • Top performing QR codes
  • Aggregated summaries for any date range

Go to Analytics → Export to download.

QR Code Configuration

All your QR code settings (names, URLs, styles) are stored in your account and preserved as long as your account exists.

What We Don't Export (And Why)

Individual scan records: We don't track individual users, so there's no per-user data to export. This is intentional—we believe in privacy-first analytics.

IP addresses: We hash and discard IP addresses. We can't export what we don't store.

Personal information about scanners: We track aggregate patterns (device types, general locations), not individual people.

This isn't a limitation—it's a feature. Your analytics are useful for business decisions without compromising anyone's privacy.

Why There's No Vendor Lock-In

Static QR Codes

Static codes encode data directly in the image. Once generated, they work forever without any server. Download the image and you're done—no subscription needed.

Dynamic QR Codes

Dynamic codes redirect through our servers, but:

  • Your free tier includes 1 dynamic code forever
  • If you cancel, your most important code keeps working
  • You choose which code stays active

Even if you stopped using our service entirely, any printed static codes would continue working indefinitely.

Leaving the Service

If you decide to leave:

  1. Export your data using the methods above
  2. Download your QR code images as backups
  3. Cancel your subscription (codes don't break)
  4. Delete your account only if you want everything removed

We recommend keeping your free account even if you're not actively using it—that way your codes stay functional at no cost.

Compare This To Competitors

Most QR code services:

  • Break all codes when you cancel
  • Don't offer data export
  • Hold your printed materials hostage

We built the opposite. Your data is yours. Your codes work independently. Leaving is easy (but we hope you won't want to).

Questions

Can I export my menu or bio link content? Yes. You can copy the content from the editor. The structured data is displayed in your dashboard.

Is there an API for data export? Pro and Team plans include API access. You can programmatically retrieve your QR codes and analytics.

What format is the analytics export? Standard CSV, compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and any data analysis tool.

Can I transfer my QR codes to another service? QR codes are just URLs. Download the images and you can use them anywhere. Dynamic codes point to our redirect service, but you can recreate them elsewhere if needed.
