App Store QR Codes
Smart app download links that detect iOS vs Android automatically.
App Store QR codes automatically send users to the right store. iPhone users go to the App Store, Android users go to Google Play—one QR code handles both.
What It Does
When someone scans, we detect whether they're on iOS or Android and redirect them to the appropriate store listing. They land on your app's download page and can install with one tap. No "search for our app in the store" instructions.
Why This Matters
Without smart detection, you either need two separate QR codes (messy for print materials) or you pick one platform and leave the other half of your audience confused. With an App Store QR code, one code works for everyone.
One QR code for both platforms. Makes your printed materials, ads, and packaging much cleaner.
Creating an App Store QR Code
Click + Create QR Code and select App Store. Enter your Apple App Store link and your Google Play link. Optionally add a fallback URL for desktop users (your app's website works well here). Customize the design and download.
Finding Your Store Links
Apple App Store: Find your app, tap Share, and copy the link. It'll look like https://apps.apple.com/app/your-app/id123456789
Google Play: Find your app and copy the URL from your browser. It'll look like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourapp
Desktop Fallback
If someone scans from a computer, they can't install your app directly. Set a fallback URL—usually your app's website where they can learn more and find download links.
You can also use a landing page that shows both store buttons. This works on any device and gives people a choice.
Where to Use Them
- Product packaging – "Download our app" on boxes and inserts
- Print ads – Magazine, newspaper, poster campaigns
- Business cards – For app developers and companies with apps
- Trade shows – Quick downloads for booth visitors
- TV ads – On-screen QR code during commercials
- In-store displays – Point-of-sale signage
Analytics
You can see how many people scanned, the iOS vs. Android split, where scanners are located, and when they're most interested. This tells you where your app promotion is working.
We track scans, not actual installs. For download numbers, check App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
Tips
Test both platforms before going to print. Scan with an iPhone, scan with Android, and check the desktop fallback too.
Add a call-to-action like "Scan to download" or "Get the app"—people respond better when you tell them what to do.
Keep links current. If you rebrand or your app ID changes, update the links.

Common Questions
What if my app is only on one platform? That's fine. Users on the other platform will see your fallback URL.
Can I track actual downloads? We track scans. For installs, use App Store Connect and Google Play Console. You can use attribution links for more detailed tracking.
What about other app stores? We support Apple and Google Play. Huawei AppGallery and others would need to go in the fallback.
Does it work with TestFlight/beta apps? TestFlight has its own links, but beta apps aren't in the public store yet.
Can I update the links later? Yes—since these are dynamic codes, you can change either store link anytime.
