My Analytics Aren't Showing
Troubleshoot missing or incorrect QR code analytics data.
You're scanning your QR code but analytics aren't appearing. Let's figure out why.
Is It a Dynamic Code?
Most Common Cause
Static QR codes don't have analytics. Only dynamic codes track scans. Check your dashboard—it'll show whether each code is "Dynamic" or "Static."
If you're using a static code, you'll need to create a dynamic code to get tracking.
Data Delay
Analytics aren't instant. Most scans appear within a few minutes, but it can take up to an hour during busy times.
What to try: Wait 15-30 minutes. Hard refresh your browser (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R). Try incognito mode to rule out caching.
Date Range Filter
Check which date range you have selected. If you're looking at "Last 7 days" but the scans happened last week, they won't appear. Try "Last 30 days" or "Last 90 days" to see older data.
Preview Doesn't Count
Previewing the QR code in your dashboard doesn't register as a scan. Someone (you or another person) needs to actually scan the code with a phone camera. Dashboard previews don't go through our redirect.
Your Own Scans Count
When testing, your scans count in analytics—there's no way to filter them out. If you're concerned about skewing production data, use a separate test QR code.
Low Numbers Are Normal Initially
If you just deployed the code, you might genuinely have very few scans. Give it time for real traffic.
Account Confusion
If you have multiple accounts, verify you're logged into the right one. QR codes belong to specific accounts—you won't see one account's analytics in another.
Location Shows Wrong
Location data is based on IP geolocation, which is approximate:
- Mobile networks sometimes route traffic through unexpected cities
- VPNs mask real location
- City-level accuracy, not street-level
This is normal. See our location data guide for more details.
"I Scanned 100 Times But Only See 50"
Possible reasons:
- Unique visitor deduplication—rapid repeat scans from the same device might be counted as one unique visitor
- Browser preview scans don't count (only actual phone scans)
Common Questions
How soon should scans appear? Usually within minutes. Give it up to an hour if you don't see them.
Can I see individual scan details? No. We show aggregate data, not individual user information.
Why are unique scans lower than total scans? Unique scans count distinct people. One person scanning twice = 2 total, 1 unique.
Can I reset analytics to zero? No. Historical data is preserved. Create a new QR code if you need fresh analytics.
Do my test scans count? Yes. Use a separate test code if you want to keep production data clean.
