Which QR Code Type Should I Use?
Guide to choosing the right QR code type for your specific use case.
We support 21 different QR code types. Most people overthink this—here's how to cut through the options.
Start Here: The Most Common Choices
If you're not sure what you need, one of these four will probably work:
Website — The default choice for most people. Points to any URL. Use it for marketing campaigns, linking to product pages, or anywhere you'd normally share a link.
vCard Plus — Digital business cards. When scanned, the person can save your name, phone, email, and company directly to their contacts. Way more effective than hoping they'll type in your info.
PDF — Perfect for menus, instruction manuals, brochures, or any document you want people to access. Upload the file, we host it, scanners view it instantly.
WiFi — Encode your network name and password. Guests scan and connect without you spelling out your 20-character password.

When In Doubt
Go with Website (dynamic). It links to any URL, you can track scans, and you can change the destination if needed. It handles 80% of use cases.
The difference between types mostly comes down to how the destination page looks and what data you need to enter. A Website code pointing to your Instagram works fine—but an Instagram code looks cleaner and the setup is simpler.
