Video & MP3 QR Codes

Share video and audio content with a simple scan.

Video and MP3 QR codes link to multimedia content. Scan, and the video plays or the audio streams. It's a simple way to connect printed materials to rich media.

Video QR Codes

When scanned, users get directed to your video. Works with YouTube, Vimeo, your own hosted videos, or social video links (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).

Where They're Useful

  • Product demos – QR codes on packaging that play how-to videos
  • Tutorials – Instruction manuals that link to video walkthroughs
  • Real estate – Property flyers with virtual tour videos
  • Marketing – Print ads that come to life
  • Training – Employee materials linked to educational content
  • Events – Speaker intros, session recordings, promotional clips

Creating a Video QR Code

Click + Create QR Code, select Video, paste your video URL, optionally add a title and thumbnail, and download.

Which Platform to Use

YouTube is the most reliable—free, fast loading, works everywhere. The downside is ads might play before your video.

Vimeo (paid plans) gives you no ads and a more professional look. Costs money though.

Self-hosted gives you full control but you need your own hosting and bandwidth.

Social videos (TikTok, Instagram) work but can be deleted, which breaks your QR code.

For most use cases, YouTube is the safest bet. Videos load fast and work on all devices.

MP3 QR Codes

When scanned, users hear your audio through a built-in player.

Where They're Useful

  • Podcasts – Link episodes from promotional materials
  • Music – Share tracks, albums, playlists
  • Audio guides – Museum tours, walking tours, guided experiences
  • Voice messages – Personal audio on cards or gifts
  • Audiobooks – Sample chapters
  • Meditation/wellness – Guided sessions

Creating an MP3 QR Code

Click + Create QR Code, select MP3, upload your audio file (or paste a link to a streaming service), add a title and cover art, and download.

Audio Sources

Upload directly: We host the file for you. Simple embedded player. Max 20MB file size.

Link to streaming: Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud. Users may need accounts for full playback, but no upload needed on your end.

The Experience

For videos, users see an embedded player with your title and description. For audio, they get a clean player with play/pause, progress bar, and cover art.

Both are mobile-optimized—which matters because that's where most scans happen.

Making Content Work

For video: Keep it short. 30-90 seconds is ideal for marketing; longer is fine for tutorials. Start strong—the first few seconds matter. Skip the long intros.

For audio: Recording quality matters more than you think. Clear audio, good levels, minimal background noise. Consider whether people will have headphones when they scan.

Analytics

You can see how many people started playback, where they're located, what devices they're using, and when they're watching or listening.

For more detailed video analytics (like watch time), you'll need to check YouTube Analytics or Vimeo's dashboard.

Updating Content

Since these are dynamic codes, you can swap in new content anytime. Same QR code, different video or audio. Great for episodic content or if you just want to keep things fresh.

The QR code never changes, so you can update your video weekly if you want—no reprinting required.

Common Questions

Can I upload videos directly? Not currently—we support linking to YouTube, Vimeo, etc. MP3s can be uploaded directly though.

Do users need apps to play? No. Everything plays in the browser. YouTube might prompt the app if it's installed, but it's not required.

What about playlists? You can link to YouTube or Spotify playlists. Users see the whole playlist.

Is there a video length limit? Not from us. YouTube's limits apply to YouTube videos. Shorter is usually better for engagement though.

Can I track watch time? We track play starts. For detailed watch time, check YouTube Analytics or Vimeo's dashboard.
